The company’s mission is to provide support to customers, preferentially start-ups in the mentioned industries, enabling them to make better decisions with as result fi. lower investment cost, higher margins, better performance and take them to the next level in Technology, R&D and Manufacturing.
Were we are good at
Management of change and interim management: transforming R&D-, technology - and Manufacturing organizations to the required level is one of Conoscere’s strengths.
Another strength is in helping to define the required path forward in up-scaling new technology to commercial scale to get the right product from a fit for use process/plant with the required economics and production capacity.
Other areas where Conoscere can assist are:
- Helping organizations to overcome hurdles to create innovation, i.e.to overcome the stigma “if you do what you did, you will get what you have got” to get product & process innovation that will lead to market growth and improved economics.
- Assist in define R&D- and Technology-portfolio; help in front-end loading of projects.
- Special projects: Conoscere is ready to conduct special projects on a single-client basis such as analysis of Manufacturing-processes and -organizations on their effectiveness and cost structure to recommend for improved economics.
- Mentoring young professionals in the R&D and Technology area.

About Conoscere and its owner
CONOSCERE is the compaction for: CONsultancy On Smart Chemical Engineering and Research & Development. Conoscere is also a word in Italian that has several meanings: know, meet, understand, experience, recognise, listen to, distinguish. Words strongly related to the skill set of the owner of Conoscere: Joop de Rooij. Joop has a bachelor degree in Physical Separation Technology, a master degree in Chemical engineering from Technical University Delft (the Netherlands) and a degree in polymer science from TOP education Polymers from the technical university in Eindhoven (the Netherlands). He spent over 20 years with Akzo Nobel and Albemarle Corporation in several senior management roles in Technology, Research & Development and Manufacturing in catalysts, specialty polymers and polymer additives. The last 5 years Joop has succesfully taken on management and advisory roles for key projects at: Royal Friesland Campina, Celanese, Eurocat and start-ups like Catalyco and Aqdot Ltd. Joop brings a proven track record in the creation and scale-up of novel manufacturing processes and the knowledge and drive to transform this into economic profitable operations. To perform his professional activities Joop and his family lived in Italy, Germany, USA, United Kingdom and the Netherlands.
